How ScamShield helps

Plain answers

"This looks like a scam", "Be careful" or "Looks OK", with the two strongest reasons. No jargon.

Never opens links

Disguised and look-alike web addresses are spotted from the text alone, so checking is always safe.

Checks the real company

For messages that claim to be from USPS, Amazon, a bank or the IRS, ScamShield reads that company's official website.

English and Spanish

Answers in the language of the message. Spanish, Hindi and Indonesian messages are understood too.

ScamShield works on Echo devices too, no typing needed. Say:

For AI assistants and developers

ScamShield is an open MCP server, so Alexa+, Claude and other assistants can use the same checks. Connect to https://scamshield-alexa.onrender.com/mcp. It's open source, and the detection engine is also a standalone library, scam-signals.

How accurate is it?

On messages written after the rules were made, the built-in rules alone caught 17 of 22 scams with no false alarms. With an AI assistant's second opinion, it caught all 22. No checker is perfect: if something feels wrong, trust that feeling and contact the company yourself, using a number or app you already trust. We publish every miss on GitHub.

What happens to the message I paste?

It's checked and then forgotten. We don't store it or write it to our logs, and we never open links in it. Only a company name and short topic (like "USPS redelivery fee") may be sent to a search service to read that company's official website. Privacy details.

I already clicked the link or paid. What now?

Don't panic. Call your bank using the number on your card and tell them. Change the password of any account you entered, and turn on two-step verification. Report it (links are shown with each result). If you gave remote access to your computer, disconnect it from the internet and get it checked.

Can I use it on my phone?

Yes. Open this page on your phone and choose "Add to Home Screen". On Android, you can then share a suspicious text straight to ScamShield from your messages app.

Is it free?

Yes. ScamShield is a free, open-source project.
